This CRACKING Stand Up comedy workshop looks at some of the tricks of the trade of creating comedy by gaining your point of view on a number of topics. You will be coached on the comic potential of your material and given top tips on developing your unique comic voice and stage persona.
You will write a little, speak a lot, improvise and hopefully laugh out loud. This comedy workshop isn’t just for professionals; it is for anyone. It is a confidence and communication booster, which will push you to think outside the box.
Description
Crack it, is a unique opportunity to participate in creating a 'tight' five minute comedy set.
You'll explore comedy techniques that include: exaggeration, rule-of-three, misdirection, use of language, and pausing - anything and everything that can make something funny. And edit, edit, edit!
YOU get to express your comedy thoughts and share your musings with critical support and comedy choreography from coach, Maggie.
Understand how and why you need to have a strong point of view towards your topics and that we can all be funny - especially when we don't try hard!

"Really great, Maggie creates a very welcoming environment, Loved it.
It was very supportive, inspiring and encouraging
Loved the techniques. Maggie was lovely, relaxed and inspiring. Made me think
Didn’t ever feel ‘put on the spot’, which had been my only (minor) fear
Lots of good ideas, nice having Maggie there supporting and explaining techniques. More practice? I don’t know – good for the first go!
Fast-paced and encouraging
I loved it even though I was out of my depth – never have done this before. You are amazing. Thank you!!!
I liked the fact that we all had to get up lots and have a go, as opposed to be merely being told. Learnt by doing and from the diversity of the group. Thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement, Maggie"
