Not the Summer we were expecting, but...

There is always something to look forward to

Out of Covid-19 come collaborations and new innovations

Hi to all - hope you are well, happy and safe.

Like many other businesses - the arts - and more, the world has shrunk to inside our computer screens and mobile phones. And while this is certainly not a natural means of communicating, or as wonderful as face-to-face contact, it has opened windows and doors across the globe, creating opportunities to meet new people that we perhaps never would have - helped us to re-assess how we move forward positively as one community.

And that is rather lovely...
Here at Comedy Matters we are finding new ways to expand our online community; we began with Funny Women and their fabulous Time of the Month classes (TOTM) - see their website for more details if you would like to join us for the next session.

Here is a little, rather fab perceptive quote from one of our lovely ladies in our Zoom:
"I really love how women often do share very personal things very quickly and then grow from that both humour and friendships." Claire Hadfield
Our last session very much embraced this ethos. Funny Women Community - was hilarious, supportive and dynamic - see you on May 18 7-9.30pm for the next one?

We are also running the below events - check them out!
  • Every Friday: May 8 Topical Comedy - May 15 Topical Comedy
  • Pi Society: A bit of comedy improv and/or stand up to get you talking, playing, connecting an laughing together. Next one Sat 6 June
  • AND SOMETHING WHICH IS BRAND SPANKING NEW! See Below

Maggie is now collaborating with @exeterphoenix via a 5 week online stand up comedy classes.

'Beginners and Giggers.' on MAY 18 (Tues Eve) at 7pm

Maggie is donating a percentage of all ticket sales, as the arts community is heavily compromised at the moment. If you fancy joining in and helping one of Exeter's heritage arts-providers - click the link above - or go direct to @exeterphoenix once the event is live.

Comedy Matters has been inundated with many wonderful jokes and comedy videos on their Facebook pages, so we will leave you with a couple of our favourites! (do feel free to visit Maggie's FB page and send some her way!)

See you soon - have as much fun as you can, and keep smiling,

from Maggie and the Comedy Matters team

Cheers :)
