Let your hair down?
Short back and
sides?
Short back and
sides?
It’s September – a new term. Remember the school rituals: New shoes, new
pencil case, new haircut? Which reminds me, my mother used to tower over my
handsome hairdresser and order him to carry on cutting. I was more Julie
Andrews than Billie-Jean King – with a secret desire to be Liza Minnelli!
Nowadays, I’m well attached to my wild mane and won’t be hacking it off any
time soon. However, it is the season for new beginnings. Workshops that focus
on performing outcomes for stage or business are being shaped, at the Fringe
for example. I’d really love to help sculpt performers to show off their own
sets, and flaunt their Grande couture… what’s your style?
Long, curly, sleek – grade 1?
Blending, blunt, choppy, flat, framing, graduation, highlights, low-lights,
layering, warm tones – harsh tones or wet look :) Razor sharp (wit). Adding
dimensions, conditioner, diffusion, there are so similarities between hair and
comedy terminology… who knew? The long and short of this note, is to invite you
to play, experiment and highlight your style and voice.
Come and let your hair down and build a (shampoo and) set to share.
As usual, big thanks and love from Maggie and the Comedy Matters team :)
