Finding the sheer joy in making people laugh...

All Shortbread shapes taste the same!

An end of course comedy gig - a time to share a short set among the group and their friends and family, via Zoom. It has a Christmas party feel ðŸ¤” - but distanced...

What could go wrong? Well absolutely nothing - it was sensational!

Topics from the comedians included Estate Agents – why are they still here when Travel Agents aren’t? Fan shaped, rectangular, round and finger-shaped shortbread biscuits that claim radical difference but all taste exactly the same; Tesla cars that talk to you... and almost know what you are thinking... (creepy)...

Thanks for the car Mike ðŸ˜‚

...and a Christmas bird that required defrosting but also needed stuffing. ðŸ˜‰ Bootiful. (I've deliberately left out the stuffing, but trust me, it were reet juicy!)

You had to be there.

The audience loved each comedian; each topic. It provided a space for people to build their confidence and develop their comedy voice and repertoire, and it was a sheer pleasure to be involved and facilitate.

I was moved by the feedback from the class. One person wrote: “I really liked Maggie’s positive, kind and supportive feedback. She really really believes in the funny inside everyone and works to bring it out in them. I had definitely lost my funny after a very hard year personally and I felt like Maggie helped me find it again, but more than that she helped me find the sheer joy in making people laugh.”

Hope to see people come to classes in January – online and in a workshop studio - Exeter Phoenix.

As usual, thanks to all… and look forward to seeing some of you next year!

From Maggie and the Comedy Matters team :)

Drop me a line or follow the links if any of our upcoming classes/workshops take your fancy - or if you would like to purchase as a Christmas gift with a difference :)
