SASS...
Safe
and Supportive Space
Learning to clown at Plymouth University involved a whole lot of success
and failures, which included not conforming to wearing traditional clown masks;
not even been recognised as a clown and failing to be funny. Sinner!
However, the university environment made it possible for such experimentation, and failure to happen. There was an abundance of
research, learning and understanding the art form and skill set required to
become a clown. It took several years to develop my craft; to feel I knew how
to develop, perform and teach comedy (becoming a qualified teacher also helped).
Comedians and wannabe comedians appreciate having a safe and supportive
space to develop and practice their material. To be honest, open mics offer
this opportunity. But if you want to work with a teacher of clowning and
comedy, get in touch or join me on my next set of online classes.
In person classes starting soon in Exmouth and gigging opportunities.
